Happy Canada Day!

In honor of Canada's 141st birthday, here are ten A-rated Canada-based stocks:

  1. Barrick Gold (ABX)
  2. Agnico-Eagle Mines (AEM)
  3. Agrium (AGU)
  4. Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ)
  5. EnCana (ECA)
  6. Enbridge (ENB)
  7. Nexen (NXY)
  8. Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan (POT)
  9. Suncor Energy (SU)
  10. Talisman Energy (TLM)

The A rate, I suppose, comes from Navellier's Portfolio Grader Pro.
So let's see how these A rated stocks performed from July 1st up to now...

  1. Barrick Gold (ABX) - from $46.36 to $36.26 - minus 21%
  2. Agnico-Eagle Mines (AEM) - from $75.27 to $58.49 - minus 22%
  3. Agrium (AGU) - from $104.82 to $86.15 - minus 17%
  4. Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ) - from $102.71 to $86.37 - minus 15%
  5. EnCana (ECA) - from $91.63 to $74.29 - minus 18%
  6. Enbridge (ENB) - from $43.60 to $41.92 - minus 4%
  7. Nexen (NXY) - from $39.82 to $32.21 - minus 19%
  8. Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan (POT) - from $222.68 to $181.71 - minus 18%
  9. Suncor Energy (SU) - from $57.22 to $58.63 - plus 2.5%
  10. Talisman Energy (TLM) - from $21.77 to $18.26 - minus 16%

An average -15% for the A rated Canadian stocks. I suspect Portfolio Grader Pro simply does not work...
